The process of glass fusing is rather simple and when it is complete some really amazing pieces are created. The first step of the process is to cut the glass on a board or a grid for measurement purposes and if you desire a straight edge. You then use a glass cutter to create your desired shape. After you have cut the pieces you like and arranged them on the glass in a manner you like, use super glue to paste it to the glass surface. If the pieces are small use a tweezer. Once the pieces are dry it is time to fire. The types of firing that are shown above are full firing, tack firing, and slump firing. Full firing fuses the glass so that there is no texture and the surface is smooth. Tack firing allows for the glass to be fully fused to the surface but not melted together, tack firing allows for texture, and the piece will not change much after it is fired. To slump fire you must create a piece that will fit within a container with curved sides. Then once it is fired it will appear almost like a bowl. As seen in the second photo on right.
